Last month we talked about living LIST READY, which means that you should organize and improve your home so that it becomes a haven while you're living in it.
Another way to live list ready (and save you a lot of money in the long haul), is to have periodic inspections of your home so that issues you can't see get caught early.
A small leak in the roof can be easily fixed, but if it becomes a big leak, you're looking at a major repair and possibly some water damage to rooms.
Even something as small as a failed sensor on your HVAC drip pan can do a ton of damage if the condensation leaks into your insulation and ceiling.
To avoid costly repairs, I advise a home inspection every few years. Plus, regularly walk your property and look for clogged downspouts, missing roof tiles, fence deterioration, signs of pests, bushes and vines touching your home, etc.
Please reach out if you'd like the name of one of my vetted inspectors. A few hundred dollars spent today on a home inspection can often avoid thousands spent when a home repair issue goes unnoticed.
As always, let me know if I can help you in any way!

P.S. If you're a Gaston County resident, you should have received your new property tax assessment in the mail. Below I've shared the process to get it revalued if you think there's an error.
