We kicked off May by hosting a teacher appreciation event at Forestview High School in Gastonia. Take a look at the beautiful charcuterie we prepared by visiting our Facebook page. I also made a tutorial on how to create roses from your meats! It's a quick, easy way to level-up your tablescape, and it can easily be done using items from ALDI. (You know I'm all about staying on budget!)
Throughout May I'll be sharing with you how to pair wines with different dishes. When my family and I were in Greece last summer, we were introduced to many varieties we'd never tried before. One of our favorites is Assyrtiko, a light-bodied, refreshing, and crisp white wine with citrus fruits and tropical notes. See my video below for more info.
I also want to draw your eye to the market report at the bottom of this newsletter, particularly to the average sales price—$341,472—of homes in Gaston County. That is up 6.5% from March 2022.
Why is this important?
If you're waiting for rates to go down a bit, remember that home prices are going up. If current trends continue—and home prices go up 6.5% by March of 2024—you could end up paying $22,195 MORE for the same house.
It's clearly better to buy now and refinance when the rates go down. Waiting will only lead to either having to buy a more expensive home OR getting less home for your money.
